A suburb with shopping
Just 12 miles north of downtown Cincinnati on Interstate 71 is the suburb of Kenwood, which could be described as a shopper’s paradise. “Kenwood’s really been flourishing since the malls have been built,” says Cincinnati-native Realtor Steve Elbert, who has been selling homes in Cincinnati for 40 years. “It’s a great mix of shops and about any restaurant you could want. The whole kit and kaboodle.” The neighborhood itself does not have a great deal of housing and the main draw is the shopping. The area has Kenwood Square and Kenwood Towne Centre, a pair of shopping malls with national retailers and boutique stores. There are no public schools in the area, but Kenwood has plenty of private school options. Dining options are plentiful around the shopping district, and Kenwood Country Club serves as a spot for golf and more.
Larger homes than surrounding areas
A single-family home in Kenwood has a median price point of $360,000. The homes are mostly split-level or ranch-style builds with a few Colonial Revival houses mixed in. “The two-story and ranch-style homes are bigger than those in neighboring Deer Park,’ says Elder. “If you’re in Kenwood, you’re paying for the bigger lot and square footage. While most of the houses were built in the middle of the 20th century, new developments have sprung up in recent years. Homes are tucked away on roads that only see residential traffic and feature private driveways for parking. Mature trees provide shade and color to the neighborhood, while many homes have front and back yards with gardens.

This neighborhood is very welcoming, and a great environment for families with kids. I've made plenty of friends here, and long-lasting connections with other residents. It is very safe overall and I feel comfortable living here. I also enjoy the amount of people who walk the neighborhood. I would however like to see more diversity.

The crime rate has gone down, but with the University of Cincinnati, they are reporting everything to students and sending out safety tips and advice. They are really stepping up to keep crime off and away from campus and keeping the students safe.
