Winton is a quiet town with farming roots and strong schools
Eight miles north of downtown Cincinnati on Interstate 75 rests Winton, a town with rural roots and good schools. “It’s close to the city, but it has a very rural feel,” says Kate Bridgman of Comey & Shepard Realtors. Bridgman has been selling homes in the Cincinnati area for 20 years and continues, “this area used to back up to farming land called Frog Town because of all the frogs by the creeks, and there is still a lot of farming in the area today.”

Home values rising for longtime residents and newcomers
Three-bedroom homes in Winton begin at $120,000, while Cape Cod-style bungalows are in the $160,000 range. For a modern, newly built home, the price is close to $350,000. Houses sit on gridded roads with flat, easily walkable sidewalks on both flanks. Mature trees shade the small lawns, and the majority of the homes have driveways, so on-street parking won’t be an issue. The houses are in residential areas, and there is not much through traffic. “It’s a mix of long-term owners and younger families that move in the area due to the schools,” says Bridgman. “Some renovation is going on and the area has gained value over the last five years.”
