Nature-filled residential suburb
Clemmons West is an entirely residential corridor in the upper half of Clemmons, a village 7 miles southwest of downtown Winston-Salem. Dense woods fill much of the neighborhood, with small subdivisions occasionally breaking through the greenery. Its 3,500-plus residents are within 3 miles of Clemmons’ central stretch, which houses big-name and locally owned shops and restaurants. Other local amenities, including a small park, highly rated public schools and Interstate 40 access, are also within reach. “It’s got a small-town feel, but we are growing,” Clemmons Events Coordinator Lynette Fox says of the village. “It’s got that suburban feel without too much hustle and bustle. It’s a fantastic place to live.”
Condos, Cape Cods and Colonials
Peace Haven Road, a prominent western Winston-Salem thoroughfare, runs along Clemmons West to the north. It branches into several compact clusters of winding residential streets to the south, featuring a mix of attached, detached and multi-family homes. Most houses were built in the 1980s or later, including red-brick Colonials, ramblers and Cape Cods. Transitional-style 2020s constructions also appear on occasion. Meanwhile, the Cobblestone and Wyngrove communities offer single-level condominiums and townhouses; some of the latter include driveways and attached garages. Homebuyers can spend in the mid-$100,000s for a two-bedroom, roughly 1,100-square-foot condo. Properties in the $300,000s include three-bedroom ramblers nearing 3,000 square feet, while even larger four-bedroom Colonials can reach the mid-$400,000s.
Clemmons residences often feature well-maintained front lawns.

It's always breakfast time at Breakfastime
Lewisville Clemmons Road is the village’s central connecting thread, placing brand-name businesses alongside those you’ll only find in Clemmons. Several grocery chains operate within blocks of Clemmons West, including Publix, Aldi and Lowes Foods. Though also a chain, Breakfastime Restaurant’s imprint is limited to six western North Carolina locations. Its Clemmons location serves breakfast dishes — from waffles to home fries — every day from 6 am to 3 pm in a rustic, country diner-style milieu.

From fishing trips to farmers markets
Indoor and outdoor recreation spaces near Clemmons West include Village Point Greenway, a small park less than 1 mile southwest. Its three-quarter-mile paved path encircles a small pond where locals can fish for catfish, crappie and other gilled denizens. Slightly north of Village Point Greenway is the Jerry Long Family YMCA, whose facilities include indoor pools, racquetball and basketball courts and youth soccer fields. From April to October, the YMCA hosts the weekly Clemmons Farmers Market, which Fox says has grown significantly since its 2014 inception. “It’s gone from two vendors to sometimes up to 60 vendors,” she says. “We attract visitors from all over. There are locally sourced farmers, including a meat vendor, artisans and more.”
