Lost Lake's central location means access to Clermont's amenities

Lost Lake is a well-established suburban community in Clermont, Florida, 25 miles west of downtown Orlando. Clermont is a land of lakes and suburbs, with cul-de-sacs of Spanish-style homes covering the area. Lost Lake differentiates itself with its location. "The main thing that makes it special is that it's in the middle of everything. You've got all the shopping and highways right there," says agent Edward Lian with Keller Williams Elite Partners III Realty, who's been selling in Clermont since 2018. Lost Lake is surrounded by all the suburban necessities residents could need. U.S. Highway 27 and state Route 50 are both about a mile away, and there are schools, parks and shopping centers all within a few minutes' drive of every home. Plus, Clermont as a whole offers a unique landscape by Florida standards. "Clermont actually has hills. So, if you're moving from up north and want that hilly look with warmer weather, this is the place," Lian says. "If you're on a hill, you can even see the fireworks from Disney."

Spanish-style homes with elevated views

Lost Lake was developed in the 2000s, and it was able to take up more room than the area's newer subdivisions. "It's a nice, quiet, established community," Lian says. "Because it's well established, it has larger lots than other suburbs." Uniform green lawns with decorative trees, driveways and sidewalks line Lost Lake's drives and cul-de-sacs. They frame Spanish-style homes, which are standard across the area. Backyard pools are also typical. Options range from single-level, three-bedroom homes to two-story, five-bedroom builds, costing between $345,000 and $775,000.

STEM career exploration at East Ridge High School

Students are minutes away from their local elementary, middle and high schools. Kids begin at Lost Lake Elementary, rated a B-plus by Niche, located on the neighborhood's south end. They continue at East Ridge Middle and East Ridge High, which have neighboring campuses on the neighborhood's north side. Both earn a B-plus. High schoolers can explore STEM and health science careers through East Ridge High's Health Science Collegiate Academy, which partners with South Lake Hospital and nearby colleges.

Multiple golf courses and lake activities with a short drive

Lost Lake has a community pool and playground for residents to use. Lake Felter Park is another recreation space next to Lost Lake Elementary. It has tennis and basketball courts and a baseball diamond. Orlando is known for golf, and Clermont is no different. Lost Lake Residents can play weekend rounds at Kings Ridge Golf Club on the neighborhood's south side. Legends Golf & Country Club is another option across U.S. Highway 27. The closest lakefront recreation is found at aptly named Waterfront Park on Lake Minneola, a few blocks from downtown Clermont. People use the park for paddleboarding and kayaking, and it has a boat launch.

Suburban shopping centers surround the community

Commercial plazas line the stretch of U.S. Highway 27 by the neighborhood, putting residents within a few minutes' drive of Walmart, BJ's Wholesale Club, ALDI and strips of chain restaurants. Clermont Landing is a large mall just north of these stores. It has retailers like T.J. Maxx and Michaels, a YogaSix location, a variety of casual eateries and a movie theater. Lowe's, Home Depot and Target add to the shopping options north of the community. Clermont's historic downtown is about 4 miles northwest. Its walkable red-brick streets host a few blocks of boutiques and restaurants just steps from Lake Minneola.

Day trips to Disney World and Universal Studios

Clermont has easy access to Orlando's world-famous theme parks. The biggest of them is Disney World. Its multiple theme parks, resorts and golf courses are less than 20 miles south of Lost Lake. Universal Orlando Resort offers another set of movie-themed universes less than 25 miles southeast. SeaWorld Orlando is also under 30 miles southeast.

Commuters drive 25 miles into downtown Orlando

State Route 50 takes commuters into downtown Orlando, about 25 miles east. However, a number of employers surround Lost Lake. The commercial centers around the neighborhood have dentists, doctors' offices and small health care centers, such as AdventHealth Clermont Health Park. There's also Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, a sprawling medical campus just north of Lost Lake. Residents go to Orlando International Airport for flights, just over 30 miles southeast.
