Fort Washington Forest Elementary, which scores a C-plus overall, features a bullying awareness and prevention program. Middle school Colin L. Powell Academy has a rating of 3 out of 10 on GreatSchools. Gwynn Park High School receives a D-plus from Niche.

Miller Farms make their own ice cream and doughnuts,” Parks says. Miller has seasonal events for all ages, from strawberry picking to hayrides. Their produce market is a fresh source of nutrition for those who want to shop local and farm fresh. For a quick dinner when you are out, grab a rack of ribs or a set of wings from RC’s Ribs and Soul at the intersection of Piscataway and Temple Hill Road. They primarily do take-out, but get in quickly because the line can be long.
Despite being a rural town, shopping here actually isn’t far or inconvenient. That said, having a car is a necessity because of the lack of public transportation. For your weekly grocery needs, Costco and Target are six miles down the road. In the same shopping center is an Xscape Theatre, where you can kick back in a leather recliner and catch new releases on the big screen.
