A rural township bordered by the river
The West Branch Susquehanna River flows around Clinton on three sides, separating the township from much of the Williamsport, Pennsylvania, region. The river is one of the primary natural features of Clinton, which is otherwise covered in mountainous forests and flat farmland. The river’s floodplains create fertile soil for agriculture, and the water presents opportunities for boating and paddling while also creating scenic backdrops for local businesses. Though Clinton is largely rural, it's home to schools and stores that prevent residents from having to drive to surrounding communities on a daily basis.
The West Branch Susquehanna River runs through most of Clinton.

Festivities on the waterfront
Since 2022, kayakers and paddleboarders have floated from The Susquehanna Boat Club in Clinton down the river to Montgomery Park every June to kick off River Fest. Flood zones surround waterways
Most homes are on the outskirts of Montgomery, a neighboring borough. Ranch homes and Colonial Revivals are common, but some new traditional designs have been built in the last 15 years. Properties generally aren’t as large as nearby rural communities, as the median lot size is just under an acre. Some houses near the West Branch Susquehanna River and Black Hole Creek are in flood zones, so homebuyers there may be required by their mortgage lenders to have flood insurance. Houses with less than an acre of land typically cost between $150,000 and $350,000, and homes with acre-plus lots can be purchased for $250,000 to $450,000.
