Conveniently located neighborhood full of outdoor recreation
Cherry Hill is a quiet neighborhood situated between Downtown Coeur d'Alene and the Idaho Panhandle National Forest. "It's a hidden gem that feels like you're up in the mountains, but you're literally minutes from the freeway and downtown," says Tom Fisher, a salesperson with Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty who has sold homes in the neighborhood. "You're up in the trees, but you can drop down onto the freeway in a minute or two. Not too many people know about this area." While Cherry Hill is close to much of the popular shopping and dining of Coeur d'Alene, its location on the tree-covered hillside keeps it hidden from the rest of the city, helping to keep its status as an unknown neighborhood where residents can enjoy the peace of the surrounding landscape.

City parks and National Forests in Cherry Hill
There are multiple spots for recreation around the neighborhood, including the 30-acre Cherry Hill Park, which has several activities. "There's a sledding hill right on Cherry Hill and a BMX track. There are playgrounds and disc golf. It's active all year round." says Danielle Touchton, a Realtor with Select Properties who has sold homes in the neighborhood. The park also has tennis courts and an off-leash dog park. Plus, the Cherry Hill Pickleball Courts is right next door. Ponderosa Springs Par-3 Golf Course is a nine-hole course in the middle of the neighborhood. This facility is an ideal spot for golfers to practice their short game or enjoy a relaxed round of golf with friends. The course is also home to Capone's on the Green, part of a local sports bar chain known for its sandwiches and bar food. The southern end of Chery Hill borders Fernan Lake, a popular spot for fishing and boating. The West Side Canfield Parking Lot is just 3.5 miles from the neighborhood, which gives residents access to the Canfield Mountain Trail System. This expansive network of trails winds through National Forest land and is transversed by hikers, ATVs and motorized and mountain bikes.

20th Century homes in an established Coeur d'Alene neighborhood
Cherry Hill features housing styles typical of the late 20th century. "You can find ranchers and split entries. There are a lot of '70s and '80s builds. They're solid construction, I would say. I think that they're well taken care of in there," says Touchton. Houses are usually on hilly, winding streets lined with mature trees, offering plenty of privacy between properties. Some areas, especially around North 22nd Street, feel more suburban, with fewer trees and houses closer together. Many homes in the neighborhood have been renovated in recent years, with touches like new countertops and open-concept floor plans. Some areas higher up on the hill offer glimpses of Lake Coeur d'Alene southwest of the neighborhood. Homes near the highway typically cost between $400,000 and $700,000, while more secluded houses can cost between $800,000 and $1.3 million. Buyers should be aware there is a risk of flooding in low-lying areas of the neighborhood near North 23rd Street.
