The neighborhood primarily includes ranch-style and split-level homes built in the 1960s and 70s, with some New Traditional homes built in the early 2000s. Grant Elementary, rated B-minus on Niche, is located in the neighborhood. Students may advance to Mann Middle, rated C-plus, and Mitchell High, rated C. Garden Ranch is zoned for Colorado Springs School District No. 11, one of the largest in the city. This district has an open enrollment policy, so public school students are not restricted to any particular pipeline, pending a student application and school availability. “It’s not a huge pro, but not a con either,” Wade says regarding open enrollment. “It’s nice. From Garden Ranch, drivers can take Interstate 25 to get downtown, or take North Union Boulevard 7 miles south.
