Close to amenities and military bases
Rustic Hills catches the eyes of potential home buyers because it offers them the best chance to become a homeowner, with friendlier prices than some other eastern Colorado Springs neighborhoods. Residents are also close to several shopping areas and various outdoor opportunities. "There are tons of hiking, biking and things to do," Kellie Peek, a real estate professional with The Cutting Edge, says. With several Air Force and Military bases nearby, along with the Airforce Academy, Colorado Springs has several military transplants.
Prepare for the sounds of planes
The neighborhood is very close to the Colorado Springs Airport, Schriever Space Force Base and Peterson Space Force Base, with the sound of the planes being very prominent. "It's a little scary and can be a little jarring if you're not used to it," Peek says. "The bombers are loud and fly low, so you have to get used to the rumble."
Several shops and eateries along N Powers Boulevard
Rustic Hills is near several shops, eateries and commercial areas in Eastern Colorado Springs. Walmart is a short drive on North Powers Boulevard in the same parking area as Palmer Park Supercenter. A few blocks north is Gunther Toody's Diner, a classic eatery with neon lights in a classic setting, with a motorcycle displayed on a counter in the center of the restaurant. Gunther Toody's serves traditional diner favorites like hamburgers, fries, fried eggs and hashbrowns. Peek says the area is close to several breweries and bars. Allusion Cocktail Bar is a themed bar centered around an immersive cocktail experience. "They had Barbie, Harry Potter and several other themes," Peek says. "It is a unique experience." Further north is the Powers Corridor thorofare, with dozens of retailers and restaurants.

Close to all the action
Residents will need a vehicle to get around the neighborhood because there is little public transportation, and it isn't very walkable. Rustic Hills has easy access to main roads like North Academy Boulevard and North Powers Boulevard. "The shops are nearby, the zoo, restaurants, you're 15 minutes away from everything," Peek says. The Colorado Springs Airport is about seven and a half miles away. Peek says that since it is a small regional airport, TSA is quick and easy to grab a connecting flight in Denver.
Split-levels and ranch-style homes

Their next stop could be Sabin Middle School, a B-minus institution. Students can participate in clubs and activities like the Science Olympiad, board and robotics clubs. Teenagers may attend Mitchell High School, which receives a C. Mitchell High is the third-oldest school in the district and is the only school to feature a planetarium, where programs are available for students across southern Colorado will be able to attend. Heathercrest Park is a handicap-accessible park about a mile north with baseball diamonds and a volleyball court.
