A north Columbia neighborhood with just over 100 homes
It's not unusual to see wild turkeys and deer in Northland-Parker, according to local Realtor Matthew McAdams with Hearth and Home Realty. Wooded backyards, sidewalks and small, contemporary subdivisions create a calm, suburban ambiance here. Quiet streets offer a relaxing environment for morning strolls and the community's Bear Creek Park has become a go-to spot for many families. "This is a place where you move here and you don't leave," McAdams says. "I know people who have been in town all their life." Part of the appeal is that the community is just 3 miles north of downtown Columbia, or The District, and the University of Missouri, which means proximity to everyday essentials without the hustle of living at city center. Housing prices in Northland-Parker are also appealing, averaging about $50,000 less than homes sold within Columbia proper.
