Popular for both its relative affordability and convenient location, this family-friendly community is close to major interstates, downtown Columbia and an expansive shopping and dining mall with plenty of options for entertainment.

With an average sales price of $245,000, homes in Northeast Columbia sell for about $10,000 less than homes the greater Columbia area. Featuring vinyl siding, brick walls and quarter to whole-acre lots, most homes here were built since the 1980s. Prospective buyers can expect to find three-bedroom single-family homes built in traditional and A-frame styles from $150,000 to $300,000. Heading outdoors around Northeast Columbia

In Northeast Columbia, it's easy to enjoy time outside. Local parks like Magnolia Park and Willow Park offer residents with places for kids to play like playgrounds and open fields as well as neighborhood amenities like tennis courts and swimming pools. Richland County schools with low student-teacher ratios

Known for its quality schools, students in Pontiac-Elgin attend Richland County public schools like North Springs Elementary and Summit Parkway Middle, both of which received a rating of B-minus or higher from the educational review site, Niche, and boast low student-teacher ratios of 14 to 1. Older students can attend Ridge View High, which received a B from Niche and offers several athletic programs that have won the state championship as well as being one of the few schools to offer AP African American Studies.

Convenient location near Interstate-77 and downtown Columbia

With a central location 17 miles north of Columbia, a commute downtown takes about 30 minutes from here. This neighborhood is also adjacent to major Interstates, convenient for traveling outside the city. I-77 will take residents straight to Charlotte while, from I-20, residents can get to Augusta or Florence and also connect to I-95. Seven miles away residents can find their local hospital at Providence Health-Northeast, while, thirty miles across town, Columbia Metropolitan Airport offers non-stop flights across the central and eastern United States. While this community is mostly car-dependent, bus lines do service Summit Parkway and Two Notch Road, connecting Northeast Columbia with the wider area.

Shopping and entertainment along Summit Parkway

A major thoroughfare for the neighborhood, Summit Parkway, takes residents in both directions to shopping centers, making sure that conveniences such as the gym are never far away. On both sides of the neighborhood, residents can find grocery stores like Food Lion, Kroger and Lidl to pick up everyday essentials.
The Village at Sandhill is a local shopping mall that offers big box retailers, like Sam’s Club and a variety of casual restaurants. For some family-friendly seafood, try Yummi Crab, where patrons can watch sports, sit outside and enjoy dishes like fried oysters, king crab legs and chicken tenders.
