The Hamptons
Neighborhood in Columbia, South Carolina
Richland County 29209
Stately colonials and ranch homes
The Hamptons’ residential blocks feature everything from 1960s ranch-style homes to stately, multi-story traditional homes with Greek and Colonial Revival influences. Several of these larger, more stately homes include features such as brick stairways leading up to the entrances, spacious and well-manicured front yards and full-height porches covered with gabled roofs held up by multiple tall columns. The modest, decades-old brick ranch styles common in this part of the state are also available in some subdivisions. This area— similar to neighboring Lake Katherine — has developed much over the years and features a handful of subdivisions. The average price for homes here hovers around $200,000 and $450,000, but some sell for over $1 million. Those, however, are not considered the norm and are several thousand-square-foot houses located on big tracts of land. Demand, which affects those prices, has been high in the Hamptons.Tee time at Fort Jackson Golf Club
Woodlands Park is, as the name suggests, shaded by a forested landscape with rows of mature trees. The park has a playground and plenty of green space between the trees. Members of the armed forces can book a tee time at the Fort Jackson Golf Club, which is home to an 18-hole course. A few miles away, Southeast Park has a scenic lake and nature trails, plus an 18-hole disc golf course that winds through forested terrain with elevation changes.Richland County School District 1 and private school options

Dreher High School, rated A-minus, is one of the oldest public high schools in the state. Private school options are also close by, including the Hammond School for kindergarten through 12th grade.Easy traveling to downtown Columbia
