They change their menu monthly and use a lot of fresh locally grown ingredients,” Manns says. There is a Publix conveniently located across Veterans Parkway for groceries. The residential areas of Old Town Columbus offer a mix of styles and prices to fit the personality and budget of buyers moving here. "It's more expensive to live here, but you get homes with very upscale modern interiors, and the exteriors have that older southern style," Manns says. "You also have so many community amenities—that's a pro when considering the cost." The Swallowtail Flats offer one, two and three-bedroom apartments ranging from $1,300 to $3,000 monthly. There’s also Legacy Reserve at Old Town, a retirement community. Townhouses are another option, with colorful exteriors and shutter-lined windows reminiscent of homes in Charleston, South Carolina. Buying a three or four-bedroom townhouse will typically cost between $450,000 and $500,000. Single-family homes take the southern inspiration even further. Think Cape Cods with deep set porches, Colonial Revival-inspired homes with colorful shutters or Neoclassical-inspired estate homes with large columns, second-floor balconies and wrap-around porches. Buyers can purchase an existing home or pick a homesite and build a customized home based on any of the 24 housing styles. Prices for single-family homes range between $600,000 to $1 million, typically depending on the size and number of customizations done.
