Vinyl-sided homes in Brittany Hills
Mature deciduous trees set the scene for the streets of Brittany Hills. Metal fences enclose sunrooms and tight backyards, while sidewalks steadily trace the roadways in some areas and stop intermittently or lift to make way for tree roots in others. Ranch-style homes, split-levels and Cape Cods with vinyl siding take up the most space in Brittany Hills, while Foursquares and saltbox homes predominate the newer Village At Eastern Glen subdivision. As the percentage of rental properties in the neighborhood shrinks, home values appreciate. "The median home price is close to $200,000 now; it used to be $120,000," says Chase Vance, a Realtor with Venture ENTOO Group who has sold nearly 400 homes throughout Central Ohio. Still, homebuyers have purchased fixer-uppers for as little as $60,000.Alum Creek walks and Mock Park afternoons
Folks can walk across Sunbury Road to the forested, paved Alum Creek Trail, which starts in Westerville to the north and ends in Three Creeks Park southeast of Columbus. The trail follows its namesake waterway and is popular among walkers, runners and bikers. For more space to roam, locals head north of Brittany Hills to Mock Park's 24 acres, complete with basketball and tennis courts, a picnic area, and a playground. Parents and friends cheer from the Willis Athletic Complex when community basketball games are moved indoors in the colder months. Finally, nearby Bretnell Community Center is open Tuesday through Saturday for residents to take arts and athletics classes and take advantage of community enrichment efforts like Mobile Produce Markets.Columbus City Schools in and around Brittany Hills

From Valley Dale Ballroom to Easton events
Long ago, the Valley Dale Ballroom on Sunbury Road hosted Big Band legends such as Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey while couples did the latest dance steps in the spacious ballroom. The ballroom still stands, and after recent renovations, it's ready to rent out for private events with a capacity of up to 1,200 people. Easton Town Center hosts various seasonal events, from the Grand Illumination of over 2 million holiday lights to Sounds of Summer outdoor concerts.
Commuting from Brittany Hills by car or bus
Interstate 670 runs close to the Brittany Hills community, giving residents a clear path to downtown Columbus in about 5.5 miles. Heading in the opposite direction on adjacent Airport Drive takes them to John Glenn Columbus International Airport in 3.5 miles. Locals can also use the COTA bus stops along Mock Road to reach their downtown destination, head to Easton Town Center for a day of shopping, and more. In case of an emergency, Ohio State East Hospital is a 3.5-mile drive away.
Food with a cause and Easton Town Center
Locals head to The Good Kitchen 614 on Brittany Hills' southeast corner for soul food served with heart. When the pandemic started in 2020, the restaurant gave away their food for an hour every Tuesday and Wednesday. Staff also personally delivered free meals to homebound seniors who called ahead. Thanks to the Save A Lot just north of Mock Road, residents can easily access the essentials. The neighborhood is also about 5 miles from Easton Town Center, one of Columbus' most popular shopping destinations, where restaurants and retail chains are modeled after an early 20th-century town.Cleanup in Brittany Hills and airport noise
Brittany Hills is a neighborhood in transition. "The area is cleaning up," Vance says. "The neighborhood used to be known for tall grass and broken fences, and that's getting better. The City of Columbus is keeping the code violations active." Buyers should be aware that Brittany Hills' proximity to a major airport means there's potential for air traffic noise.
