A multicultural neighborhood north of Columbus
Set nine miles north of downtown Columbus, Clinton Estates is a midcentury neighborhood known for its diversity. "It is kind of a melting pot of people, a very diverse area of Columbus," says Kaitlyn Robertson, a former Ohio congressional staffer. Affordable real estate, shopping and dining options attract residents from all over the world, and Ohio, to Clinton Estates.

Afra Grill serves Somali dishes that customers can build from a list of ingredients, including fufu soup, roasted goat and pili-pili mango chicken. Namaste has been serving up Indian and Nepali dishes since it first opened its doors in 2013. The owners describe the vibe as "casual fine dining," where guests can enjoy a variety of dishes, including chicken pakora and vegetable samosas. Retail, groceries and other dining options crowd around Morse Road to the neighborhood’s north. Saraga International Grocery, African Market and Bista Brothers Asian Grocery are all mainstays in the area. Familiar franchises like Menard’s and Dollar Tree are also available.

Well-maintained midcentury homes
Ranchers, split-levels and Cape Cods are the most common housing styles in the area. Single-car driveways end in carports, though houses occasionally have attached garages. Narrow sidewalks line eighth-acre lots of well-maintained grass and mature trees. Single-family homes generally fall between the high $200,000s and the low $300,000s, averaging around 1,100 square feet. Condos are popular in the area and range from the high $80,000s to the low $100,000s. Many of these condos are for seniors and the 55-plus crowd.

Language skills at Columbus International High School
Students in Clinton Estates start at Maize Road Elementary, where they can take part in the 'Become Buckeyes for a Day' tradition. On these access days, students get the chance to experience a typical day in the life of an Ohio State Buckeye student, with tours of the facilities and time to sit in on classes. Next, they enroll at Medina Middle School before attending Mifflin High School. All three schools receive a C-minus grade from Niche. Located in the neighborhood, Columbus International High School is a public magnet program dedicated to a well-rounded education with a global-minded influence. Students receive a college-prep curriculum, along with the opportunity to study a number of languages, including Spanish, Chinese, French and Russian. It has a C-plus from Niche.
Mifflin High School near Clinton Estates serves the students in grades 9-12.
Maize Elementary School in Clinton Estates serves the children in grades PK, K-5.

Woodward Park wetlands
Woodward Park is a 17-acre public facility two miles north of Clinton Estates. Athletes of every skill level take advantage of its basketball and pickleball courts, while hikers and bikers can follow the Alum Creek Trail for nearly 25 miles. The Woodward Nature Preserve is a 34-acre wetland that is appreciated by nature lovers for its animals, wildflowers and dense clusters of trees.

COTA public transit
While sidewalks connect the neighborhood, locals will require a vehicle for access to work and shopping. Central Ohio Transit Authority bus stops are on Maize and Morse Roads. "The public transportation isn't the greatest, but it's not inaccessible by any means," Robertson says. Interstate 71 leads to downtown Columbus, 9 miles south. The John Glenn Columbus International Airport is 12 miles southeast, while OhioHealth Riverside is less than five miles southwest.
