An annual tradition of the Discovery District is the Holiday Trolley Hop. The area can also be explored through its regular art walks, which place a spotlight on the artistic establishments found in the neighborhood.
Condos and well-lit streets
The majority of homes in Discovery District come in the form of condos and townhomes built in the late 90s and early 2000s, as well as the occasional American Foursquare-style homes built throughout the 20th century. Thanks to its established sidewalks, “the neighborhood is extremely walkable,” shares McClung. “Especially thanks to the streets being well-lit.” Though an urban setting, trees are found sprinkled along sidewalks, specifically along East Long Street, which works as the community’s main line road. Those looking to move into the neighborhood can take advantage of the variety of home prices. Potential homebuyers can expect a range from $300,000 for a one-bedroom condo to $700,000 for a larger four-bedroom home. Depending on the size and attached amenities, newer builds can exceed $1 million.
