Friendly neighbors and nearby parks
Eastgate is a park-like suburban enclave bordering one of Columbus’ striking river corridors. The neighborhood was designed with curved streets and natural scenery so that it would stand apart from nearby urban residential areas with traditional street grids. With a handful of parks within walking distance and plenty of community-organized events, Eastgate is stowed away from the hubbub of Columbus, all while hosting its own buzzing community of friendly neighbors.
Mid-20th century Cape Cod and Colonial-style homes
There are no alleyways in the neighborhood, and utility lines are located behind residential lots rather than along roadways. Thanks to its sidewalks and mature trees for shade, “the neighborhood is very walkable for residents,” explains Erin Manley, a realtor with e-Merge Real Estate who works in new construction and has ample knowledge of the Columbus region. Lining the residential streets are homes built in the mid-20th century with generous setbacks, from Cape Cods with steep roofs and stone façades to two-story brick colonials. Those looking to purchase a home in Eastgate can expect a price range from $135,000 for a three-bedroom home to $475,000 for a larger four-bedroom house with updates.
