Tree-filled streets of midcentury-style homes at midrange price points
Homes built during the middle of the 20th century line the neighborhood’s narrow streets. “There are lots of split-levels from the ‘60s,” says Jamie Maze, Realtor and team leader of Maze & Company. “A lot of ranch-style homes, but not too many two-stories.” Most houses have driveways and attached garages, with lots topping out around a fifth of an acre. “Forest Park West gives off that small, suburban neighborhood feel,” says Remington Lyman, a Realtor with Reafco. “It’s a quaint and quiet area with parks and restaurants that are walkable from homes with a lot of charm.” Home prices generally range from the high $100,000s to the high $300,000s, with a median sale price in the low $300,000s, comparable to Forest Park East and Northgate, but higher than Salem Village and Devonshire. “The money you spend for a house here goes a long way,” Lyman says.
