From their high-rise condos, Columbus' North Bank Park area residents can see cars passing over the scenic Scioto River on the Discovery Bridge and the twinkling lights of downtown Columbus. The interconnected parks within the Scioto Mile are in their backyard, so if they're not walking to a Columbus Blue Jackets, Clippers or Crew game in the nearby Arena District, they're often enjoying abundant green space and outdoor activities. 20th-century Neoclassical and Art Deco structures like Columbus City Hall and the J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center line the neighborhood streets.
A Scioto River view from floor-to-ceiling windows
Tall, glassy apartment and condo buildings line the streets at the north end of the neighborhood near the Scioto River. Prices for these units range from $300,000 for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom closer to Nationwide Arena to $1.5 million for a sun-washed penthouse suite with floor-to-ceiling windows. "The area is all condos, no single-family homes," says Thomas Hamrick, Team Leader and Realtor at Keller Williams Consultants. He's a Columbus connoisseur who loves exploring Ohio's Capital City. "The units are gorgeous—they look out over the river and have a great skyline view. You pay for the views. The North Bank and Park's Edge condo buildings just went through big renovations too, and they're all super walkable."
From pregame bites to luxury dining
Residents grab a burger and pop open a cold one before game night at Betty's Bar. Chain fare ranges from perfectly crafted skewered meats at Rodizio Grill Brazilian Steakhouse to brunch spots like Sunny Street Café. The scents of local vendors and eateries greet shoppers at North Market Downtown, Columbus' proprietary farmers market. When they're not shopping for farm fresh produce, residents can head farther north to big-box options like the Kroger on North High Street.
Columbus sports, live music and more
The nearby Uptown District intertwines history and performing arts at landmarks like the Ohio Theatre and Palace Theatre. North Bank Park is also minutes from the Discovery and Short North districts' museums, art galleries and fine dining. "The KEMBA Live outdoor concert venue is also popular," Hamrick adds. "You're going to have smaller bands and singers performing there." Of course, a night out in North Bank Park often means cheering from the stands. "You have all the Columbus arenas right there: Nationwide for hockey, Huntington Park for baseball and Lower.com Field for soccer," Hamrick lists. "It's the largest commercial project the state has ever seen. One of the first sports betting places is also by Nationwide Area."

Exploring sun-washed parks along the Scioto
Parts of the Scioto Greenway and Olentangy trails meander through the neighborhood's 12-acre namesake park. North Bank also includes a glass event pavilion with stunning views of downtown Columbus. "There's no playground, but there's an old train bridge that has gorgeous views," Hamrick adds. "The city has used North Bank Park as the end of the Columbus Marathon and different 5ks because it's a central spot with all the parking garages in the Arena District. The park also has picnic tables and chairs where people can relax." Locals bike past the historic entry arch from the now-demolished Old Union Train Station at McFerson Commons Park. The Scioto Greenway Trail follows the river's twists and turns throughout the city and offers pedestrian access to each park.
Commuting from North Bank Park
When they're not walking or biking to their destinations, North Bank Park residents drive less than a mile to most major attractions in downtown Columbus; the COTA bus system offers another alternative for traversing the city. OhioHealth Grant Medical Center and Emergency Department is just 1.5 miles away in the event of an emergency. Those heading out of state for work or play can reach John Glenn Columbus International Airport in about 6.5 miles on Interstate 670.
Arena District noise reminder
Folks interested in North Bank Park should remember that traffic gets dense on game day—and expect the sounds of cheering fans.
