College football and an Irish festival
The AMC theater is 2-½ miles away. At Throw Nation, people launch axes at wooden bullseyes. Residents travel 11 miles south to watch Ohio State's football team face off against other Big 10 Conference rivals at Ohio Stadium, which has a capacity of over 100,000 people. Dublin Village hosts the annual Dublin Irish Festival about 6 miles west of Summerwood. The three-day event draws thousands of visitors with music from the old country, whisky tastings, strongman competitions and more.Getting around central Ohio
Interstate 270 runs to Summerwood's south. The interstate produces a considerable amount of noise for people living near it. "The interstate makes it easy to access anywhere in central Ohio," Roehrenbeck says. The Central Ohio Transit Authority operates bus stops along Smoky Row Road. People travel 14-½ miles south to Downtown Columbus via Ohio State Route 315. The community's streets are lined with sidewalks, allowing for strolls. John Glenn Columbus International Airport is about 17-½ miles southeast via Interstate 270. The Ohio State University Airport is 6 miles south of Summerwood. "The college's airport has no effect on Summerwood," Roehrenbeck says.Chain retail and local dining
The northeast end of the community offers several shopping and dining options. Laguna Mexican Grill & Ice Cream serves street food classics like chicharron and esquites and shaved ice desserts. W.g. Grinders is known for its pasta, stromboli and gourmet soups. Chubby's Sports Grill serves bar food and draft beer. The Arabian Market sells Middle Eastern cooking ingredients. A Dollar General is nearby. There is also a collection of restaurants east of the community. These franchises include Olive Garden, IHOP and McDonald's. Kroger and Walmart are immediately east as well. People travel 3 miles southwest to the Festival Centre, which has stores like Target, Michaels, Barnes & Noble and Burlington.
