Woodland Park

American Foursquare-style homes and the Park Towers
“The neighborhood is very walkable, with people out and about,” says Emily Manley, an e-Merge Real Estate Realtor who works in new construction and has ample knowledge of the Columbus area. This is thanks to the neat sidewalks that line the residential streets of Woodland Park. A walk through Woodland Park, showcases mostly American Foursqaure-style homes built in the early to mid-1900s, with plenty of open front porches and ornamental detail. Park Towers, the only high-rise in the neighborhood, is home to condos and is considered an architectural landmark of Woodland Park. Potential homebuyers can expect a price range from $200,000 for a two-bedroom home to $500,000 for larger homes that have seen recent renovations.Easton Town Center and sweet potato cheesecake
Woodland Park sits close to a few local eateries, including Junior’s Sweet Potato Pie, a bakery best known for its sweet potato cheesecake. Sitting along Greenway Avenue is Madison Soul Food Kitchen, a popular spot for homestyle soul food, including its favored mac and cheese. Those picking up groceries head to the local Kroger, located just over a mile away along Holtzman Avenue, while retail opportunities can be found at Easton Town Center, an 8-mile drive via I-670 East. The shopping center is home to Target, Macy’s and several other recognizable retailers. The trails of Franklin Park
Less than five blocks east is Saunders Park, where many residents head to in the summer to visit the Maryland Community Pool, which has two water slides as well as a kiddie pool for younger guests. Walking to and around Franklin Park is a way many residents like to get outside. The park is home to several walking trails that are great for exploring and walking dogs.Christmas lights at the Conservatory Aglow
Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens hosts several ticketed events throughout the year. A staple of the area is Conservatory Aglow, which takes place during the holiday season, where the gardens are transformed into an evening attraction covered in Christmas lights. The Gardens also host Pumpkin Aglow during the Halloween season, with thousands of jack-o'-lanterns lit up throughout the park. The public school of Columbus
Younger students can begin their education journey at Eastgate Elementary School, which has received a C-minus from Niche. Older students can head to Champion Middle School, which has earned a D-plus, before attending East High School. The high school is located in the neighborhood, has earned a C-minus grade from Niche, and is home to an established Health Science program. “There are also a ton of great schools outside of Columbus Public Schools,” shares Manley, in reference to private schools in the area, specifically in Bexley.Commuting from Woodland Park
Commuting to surrounding areas is convenient, thanks to nearby major roadways. A 3.8-mile trip along US-62 East carries travelers to John Glenn Columbus International Airport, while The Ohio State University can be reached in 5.8 miles via I-670 West. Closer to home is downtown Columbus, which is less than 3 miles away along East Broad Street, and Ohio State East Hospital, sitting less than a mile east of the community.
The trains of Norfolk and Southern Railway
The historic Norfolk Southern Railway runs along the east and north sides of the neighborhood. Those living within proximity to the tracks can expect to hear trains periodically passing through.
