Suburb 20 miles from downtown Miami

Country Club is a suburb about 20 miles northwest of downtown Miami, offering easy access to major roadways and Atlantic beaches. Home to about 50,000 residents, it’s named after the Country Club of Miami, which was established here in 1961 and features a pair of public 18-hole golf courses. There is a wide variety of homes here – from condos in gated communities to midcentury homes to golf course estates – and many are more affordable than those in nearby suburbs.

Range of housing options, relatively affordable homes

Country Club’s median home price of around $340,000 is significantly less than its neighbors like Miami Lakes, with a median of $585,000, and Miami Gardens, with a median of $490,000. However, home prices can vary greatly, with condos typically being the least expensive, starting around $200,000. The northeast section of the community is densely populated with older, non-HOA homes featuring traditional ranch-style designs in walkable neighborhood settings. Houses surrounding the Country Club of Miami golf course are among the community’s largest and most expensive, easily topping $1 million. Gated communities featuring condos, townhouses and single-family homes are also part of Country Club. Residents should be aware that insurance rates are likely to reflect a high risk of flooding and wind damage during hurricane season despite the community’s location 15 miles inland.

Country Club of Miami features two 18-hole golf courses

The Country Club of Miami has been the recreational anchor of the community for more than 60 years. Its two courses feature 18-hole public layouts. The par-70 East Course is the shorter of the two, at a little over 6,400 yards. The West Course, which plays to about 7,000 yards, is a par-72. Country Village Park offers recreational spaces for baseball, soccer and skateboarding. Its community center offers classes and camps, including a free Active Older Adults Program. The Intracoastal waterway has boating and fishing opportunities, while Atlantic beaches, like Sunny Isles Beach, are a short drive east.
