Roberts Expressway, which branches off from the Beltway about 3 miles north of the Scituate Avenue exit, provides a direct line into Providence, the most populous city in Rhode Island. While there are no bus routes that run to the heart of the suburban developments, there are two bus stops just east of the beltway, on Plainfield Pike and Scituate Avenue, that serve routes running directly into Providence.
