Midcentury homes in a convenient location near the Twin Cities
Brownwood is near the center of Crystal, Minnesota, a suburban city northwest of Minneapolis. Characterized by midcentury homes, the neighborhood enjoys proximity to shopping, dining and recreation. “Gosh, there’s pretty much everything you can think of,” says Brent Peterson, a Realtor with Re/Max Results. “You have a lot of shops and restaurants.” Crystal’s location in relation to the rest of the Twin Cities is another key part of its appeal. “There’s tons of options for things to do just because of the proximity to the greater Twin Cities,” Peterson says. “It’s a convenience thing for sure.”
Ranch-style homes tucked amidst tall trees
Brownwood is largely composed of ranch-style homes, spaced moderately apart. Lots feature well-kept lawns and mature trees. Some homes have garages beneath them, like along 37th Avenue, while others have detached garages. Some other designs, like half-stories and bi-levels, are scattered amongst the ranch-style homes. “These are all post-World War II built homes,” Peterson says. “So, they’re pretty similar. The only difference between one side of the block and the other might be that one side might have basements, and the other might have crawl spaces.” Prices range from about $215,000 up to $400,000.
Some ranch style homes in Brownwood feature a small front patio.
