Because of its location on the border of Cuyahoga Falls and Tallmadge, Buckingham Gate lets residents enjoy the parks, retail and events in both cities. “You couldn’t pick a better location,” says Jim West, Realtor with the Stow Office of Howard Hanna. Whether it’s a fitness center, golf club or Water Works Park, there are plenty of options for people to get active. Nearby shopping includes the strip mall at The Plaza at Chapel Hill and Downtown Cuyahoga Falls. West also says that the area attracts a mixture of people because most properties are condos, drawing in young adults and older people looking to downsize.

Condos and townhouses make up most of Buckingham Gate
Condos and townhouse communities make up most of the inventory in Buckingham Gate, including two-story builds in Brookledge Commons and one-story units in Ridgewood. Sidewalks line most streets, and some townhouses have small, grassy lawns. Several communities offer amenities like a pool and fitness center to their residents. Prices for a two-bedroom range from $125,000 to $310,000, depending on location. Single-family homes are rarely available. The most recent listing was an investment property that sold for just under $60,000 in June 2024.

Premier golf course, fitness center and popular parks are nearby
Brookledge Golf Club takes up the northern part of the neighborhood, with a public 18-hole course designed by Arthur Hills that spans over 120 acres. “It’s very well-maintained,” West says. “It’s a premier golf course that is well-liked by residents.” The club offers lessons for children and adults. Avid golfers can also visit the minigolf course at Downview Sports Center, which also has a skate park and batting cages. Buckingham Gate is about 2 miles from Water Works Park, which includes a water park with slides, a lazy river and a splash pad. The Cuyahoga Valley National Park is about 11 miles away; people ride on the park’s Scenic Railroad for sightseeing and entertainment excursions like a murder mystery train ride and bingo.

Existing and upcoming schools in the Falls serve Buckingham Gate
Buckingham Gate is part of the Cuyahoga Falls City School District, which has open enrollment. Preston Elementary School earns a B from Niche, while Bolich Middle School receives a C. Cuyahoga Falls High School, rated C-plus, is part of the Six District Educational Compact, which offers career and technical education programs like interactive marketing and design and automotive technologies. The district is building a new sixth through 12th-grade campus that will replace the middle and high school. It is expected to open in January 2026. Private schools in the area include Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy and Walsh Jesuit High School, both of which earn a B-plus.

Cuyahoga Falls hosts several events, the most popular being the three annual Heritage Festivals: the Riverfront Irish Festival, Festa Italiana and Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest. Each celebration features dancing, food, music and vendors highlighting Irish, Italian and German cultures. “Being so close to Tallmadge, you can also participate in those activities,” West says. Popular events include Family Fun Fest, which has obstacle courses, petting zoos and more kid-friendly activities.

Major highways and Akron Metro carry people to and from Downtown Akron
Residents can access State Route 8, which leads about 6 miles to Downtown Akron and merges with Interstate 77. They can also take public transportation, with a bus route along Bailey Road and Howe Avenue that Akron Metro Regional Transit Authority manages. Akron-Canton Airport is about 19 miles away and offers direct flights to over 20 cities across the county. Summa Health Tallmadge Medical Center is about 2 miles away.

For more of a local feel, residents can travel about 2 miles to Downtown Cuyahoga Falls. “The mayor has been very awesome with the development of that area,” West says. This development includes more parking, recreation and restaurants downtown. Flury’s Cafe is a popular brunch spot. Crave Cantina serves Latin American fare. Also downtown is the city’s amphitheater and The Natatorium. This fitness center includes two gyms, an aquatics area and an indoor track. Over 60 workout classes are held each week, including yoga, karate and water aerobics.
