While the neighborhood of Peacock Terrace is more than twenty minutes away from downtown Dallas, residents live just 15 minutes away from South Dallas, home to the historic Cotton Bowl Stadium. Homes within the neighborhood are mostly small ranch-style homes that were built in the 1930s and 1940s. Within the middle, a 946-square-foot ranch-style home with three bedrooms and one bath goes for about $200,000. On the higher end, a renovated 1,100 square-foot three-bedroom and two-bath ranch-style home that was originally built in 1948 goes for $265,000. Students living in Peacock Terrace attend Urban Park Elementary, Ann Richards Middle and Skyline High, which has an overall C-plus rating on Niche. Because each hole was designed to fit the natural landscape of the course, players find the course to be a challenge. In contrast, the Tenison Glen course is a more relaxed—but challenging—course.

Residents are only a few minutes away from a few notable restaurants. La Adelita – Mexican Restaurant is known for their fajitas. Las Fresitas Neveria Y Fruteria serves authentic Mexican desserts. Order their Fresas con Crema, translated to strawberries and cream, which is a popular Mexican dessert that is freshly sliced strawberries mixed with sweetened cream sauce. Formosa Express is a popular Chinese restaurant. Order one of their fried rice combos. For groceries, residents can head to Fiesta Mart, which is located on South Buckner Boulevard, which is minutes away from Peacock Terrace.

Cotton Bowl Stadium is only seven minutes away from Peacock Terrace. The 91,000-seat stadium is a historic landmark, famous for the annual Red River Showdown football game that pits the University of Texas against their rivals, the University of Oklahoma. While living in Peacock Terrace, a Texas tradition is just around the corner.
