Great Trinity Forest connects many of DFW's great trails.
Great Trinity Forest is just west
Nine miles from downtown Dallas, Piedmont stretches southeast from White Rock Creek, offering an environment toned down from the city scurry. With a centrally located golf course and the Great Trinity Forest just west, neighbors enjoy feeling tucked away from the hustle while being infinitely connected to all of Dallas. "Location is what draws people here — the ease of getting on the highway and the ease of getting to downtown quickly," says Realtor Karris Jones, a Dallas expert who works for Heart & Home Realtors.
Piedmont properties are mostly brick ranch-style homes
Neighbors settle in close quarters within mostly brick ranch-style homes with the occasional decorative detail, including stone facades and cross-cross cottage windows. Though most properties trail back to the '50s, there are some two-story Neo Traditionals circa the early 2000s and the occasional new construction. Prices range from the mid $200,000s to the upper $400,000s while rarely climbing higher. Piedmont properties are generally between $10,000 to $20,000 more than next-door communities, including Southeast Dallas and McCommas Bluff. They typically sell within 35 days, faster than the national average of 38.
It wouldn't be in Texas if Piedmont wasn't also filled with ranch homes.
Homes in Piedmont typically have decent sized yards with plenty of space in between neighbors.

Fair Park just sits a few mins SE of the Dallas Skyline.
Fair Park is less than 5 miles away
Just under 5 miles away on Grand Avenue lies Fair Park, home to the annual State Fair of Texas, celebrating "all things Texan" every fall. After greeting Big Tex, a 55-foot-tall statue billed as the world's tallest cowboy, locals grab fried food and ride the Texas Star, a Ferris wheel that rises over 212 feet and provides a picturesque view of the city. Fair Park also hosts myriad events outside of the state fair. The Music Hall at Fair Park brings theatergoers Broadway performances in its historic 1925 hall, while Dos Equis Pavilion regularly hosts touring bands. The Cotton Bowl Stadium attracts football fans every fall for the Red River Showdown, an annual game between the bitterly rivaling Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners. This massive event, held since 1929, is a bucket list item for fans on both sides of the field.

Sailing and fishing at White Rock Lake
The Scyene Trail and Piedmont Ridge are centrally located and provide hiking trails spanning under 2 miles with views of the Great Trinity Forest and the lower portion of White Rock Creek. Hikers have the chance to see great horned owls and red-shouldered hawks, and the spring brings a range of wildflowers. For an afternoon hitting the links, Keeton Park Golf Course backs up to the nature preserve in Piedmont Ridge. This 18-hole championship track features an award-winning grass-driving range open daily. Locals also sail and fish at White Rock Lake, Dallas's largest park, just 6 miles from Piedmont. "It's a big outdoorsy place, and people travel from all over Dallas for our waterway," says Dallas local Jenny Capritta, a Re/Max Realtor.
Fishing is a favorite of locals that visit White Rock Lake.

Buckner Boulevard for groceries and food
Commercial strips line North and South Buckner Boulevard with abundant fast food and casual chains. Locals stop by El Palote Panaderia for its entirely vegan menu — the first in Dallas. They can also choose from Walmart Neighborhood Market, Aldi or Fiesta Mart for groceries. Casa Linda Plaza, among Buckner Boulevard's highlights, also has a range of small stores, including Ulta and The Sample House for candles and décor.

GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
