Modern homes that come with major convenience
In northwestern Davie, Interstate 595 flows right into Scarborough. This neighborhood mixes access with seclusion, full of quiet residential streets yet right around the corner from one of the area’s major highways. Still, homes here can be had at prices that are more accessible than in some other parts of the city. “We’re seeing a huge change in Davie right now, where there’s an increased emphasis on luxury,” says Karl Fong Yee, founder of Advyzors Group with The Keyes Company and a Miami native. “Investors and flippers are coming in, and new residential developments are going up all the time. Scarborough is far enough from the new high rises that the prices haven’t skyrocketed, but with the highways all close by, it’s in a great location.”
From villas to multistory, the housing inventory comes with variety
Scarborough is made up mostly of new traditional-style single-family homes. But the layouts vary quite a bit, from villa-style single-story options under 1,300 square feet to four-bedroom multistory houses over 2,100 square feet. These homes were built in the 1980s and ’90s and along streets lined with palm trees. Many of the lots are around one-tenth of an acre, and some properties have lake views. Single-story houses sell for between $400,000 and $500,000, while multistory homes go for between $500,000 and $600,000. There’s also a gated 55-and-over manufactured home community in the area called Park City West, where options have prices between $50,000 and $100,000.
