Henry Ford-Fairlane
Henry Ford’s historical legacy
Famous automaker Henry Ford has influenced much of this Dearborn neighborhood. Known for the Ford World Headquarters, Henry Ford’s historic Fair Lane estate, and The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, it’s no wonder this neighborhood is called Henry Ford-Fairlane. Residents can check out the Fair Lane estate park and enjoy the annual blooming of lilacs. The Henry Ford Museum, located in the heart of the neighborhood, is a popular destination that celebrates the life and achievements of the man himself and offers a variety of educational and interactive exhibits.Bradford Village condominiums and single-family bungalows

These Craftsman residences can range from $180,000 to $350,000. Split-level condos in the Bradford Village Community cost between $270,000 and $310,000, with shingle, stone and brick exteriors and attached two-car garages. Ford Field Park is tucked behind apartment buildings on Cherry Hill Street and has bocce ball and tennis courts, as well as a couple of ball fields for after-work league games. Residents can park at the Rouge River Gateway Corridor trailhead to access miles of paved hiking and biking trails around Dearborn. Residents can sign up for educational programs at the Environmental Interpretive Center at the University of Michigan’s Dearborn branch, which has been providing educational and outdoor experiences for more than 40 years.Tastes from around the world on Michigan Avenue
The neighborhood’s downtown area on Michigan Avenue has a lot of dining options from many different cultures to explore. “The downtown Dearborn area is upscale, and the food here is unmatched,” Soba says. “You’ve got a ton of variety all in one place.” Enjoy premium Yemeni coffee at Qahwah House or try Paradise Street Eats & Biryani across the street for Indian street food fusion dishes. Locals can try grass-fed beef burgers at Brome Modern Eatery or have Labneh toast for brunch at The Great Commoner down the street. When it's time to run errands, the local Kroger is also on Michigan Avenue just down the road.Michigan’s oldest Memorial Day parade and the Dearborn Homecoming Festival
From art galleries to sporting events, the area is home to many cultural festivals and occasions, including the annual Dearborn Homecoming Festival in August. The festival includes fireworks and live entertainment, carnival rides, games and food. During Halloween, the neighborhood transforms Ford Field Park into a spooky spectacular with its haunted trail, and at Christmas, the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center hosts the annual tree lighting ceremony. The oldest Memorial Day Parade in Michigan is also hosted along Michigan Avenue.Impressive Dearborn public schools
Students can attend schools within the Dearborn Public School District, which earns an overall B from Niche and is in the top 20 school districts in Wayne County. “What’s great about Dearborn is that there are so many different cultures here. Students will go to school with each other and start picking up words in languages they weren’t born with but become immersed in,” Soba says. Children may start at Duvall Elementary School, which earns a B-plus from Niche. They can then attend Smith Middle School, graded a B-minus, which participates in the National Junior Honors Society for outstanding students.
