Levagood-Clark homes are known for their solidly built, midcentury architecture and neatly trimmed lawns lining the streets. With houses built primarily in the 1940s, 50s and 60s, architectural styles include spacious colonials, ranch homes and cozy bungalows. Tudor Revival designs can also be found here, known for their steep-pitched rooftops and asymmetric layouts. “Most of these homes have been really well-maintained and upgraded,” Sabbagh says. Floorplans in the neighborhood range from between 1,500 square feet to 3,000 square feet, offering a variety of sizes for potential homebuyers. Lots sizes are also varied, but typically top 5,000 square feet, so residents have plenty of room for gardening and landscaping. Prices usually list for between $225,000 and $450,000, depending on size and whether the homes have been renovated.

Enjoy the outdoors at Levagood Park
The community gathers at Levagood Park, a 36-acre green space at the center of the neighborhood with baseball diamonds, playgrounds, picnic areas and plenty of shady, mature trees. It’s also home to the Dunworth Pool & Water Park, a public swimming pool with waterslides where residents can cool off during the toasty summer months. Avid golfers can book a tee time at nearby Dearborn Country Club, a private club with an 18-hole course, an upscale swimming pool and a luxurious clubhouse. Students can attend some of Dearborn’s highest-rated public and private schools, including Haigh Elementary School, which is at the center of the neighborhood and holds a B-plus rating from Niche, an online school review site. Upperclassmen attend nearby Bryant Middle School and Dearborn High School, which also hold B ratings from Niche. Dearborn High is one of the city’s three high schools and enrolls more than 2,000 students every year. Students and parents seeking an alternative might consider Divine Child Elementary School and Divine Child High School, a private Catholic school at the center of the neighborhood. Levagood-Clark is about 4 miles north of Interstate 94, a major local highway that will take you all over the Detroit metropolitan area. Hop on the highway and it’s about 14 miles to downtown Detroit, 10 miles to the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and about 34 miles from Ann Arbor. There are plenty of shops and eateries close to home on Ford Road: Dearborn Italian Bakery is an authentic, family-owned restaurants serving the community fresh baked pizzas and cakes since 1960, while those in the mood for Central American fare might try Mexican Fiesta. There's also Dearborn Fresh Supermarket for groceries and everyday essentials. Residents can head down to Michigan Avenue for an array of ethnic eateries and cafes, while big box stores and major grocery chains like Target, Walmart, Best Buy and Kroger can be found a few miles from the neighborhood.
