Morley is often called the downtown of western Dearborn, thanks to the high concentration of cafes, restaurants and community events. It's Dearborn's most urban neighborhood, populated with high-rise condominiums and apartment buildings. And the city's largest employer, the world headquarters of Ford Motor Company, is just 2 miles away. The prime location means more street noise, higher prices and smaller living spaces than elsewhere in Dearborn. But for those looking for a balance between life, work, and play, Morley is one of the city's busiest and most vibrant neighborhoods.

Condo living in a quickly moving market
Housing is mostly a condo units. One-bedroom units in older high-rise buildings start around $75,000. Recently updated condos with brownstone and Tudor exteriors can cost up to $400,000. The local Morley Manor Co-Op is a senior living community with condo units ranging from $60,000 to $125,000.
There are a few single-family homes here, typically dating back to the 1920s and 30s. Architectural styles are typical of that time, including small Cape Cods, boxy American Foursquares and bungalows with brick front porches. Prices range from $300,000 to $500,000, well above average for Dearborn. "There's very low inventory, so homes sell ver says Batoul Abdallah, a Realtor with Re/Max Leading Edge who has experience all over Dearborn. "It's very walkable that close to downtown, which makes it a desirable spot."

A "sparkling" downtown with many restaurant options
Morley encompasses the downtown area of western Dearborn, which has experienced rapid growth and development in recent years. The walkable streets are filled with murals, string lights and various businesses. "Downtown is lively in the day and sparkling at night," Abdallah says. "There are so many restaurants, juice bars and cafes. I think we have the highest number of cafes and restaurants compared to the population anywhere else in the Detroit area." The cuisines offered are just as diverse as Dearborn, and most restaurants offer halal options. American burger joints sit next to Lebanese, Mexican and Indian eateries. The local Qahwah House is a staple for Yemeni coffee and pastries, staying busy until it closes at 11 p.m.
There's also a record store, some vintage shops and a local library. The family-owned Westborn Market specializes in fresh produce, and a short walk down Michigan Avenue leads to a Kroger. "You're right in the middle of everything," Abdallah says.
Chain restaurants and local cafes can be found up and down Michigan Ave in Morley.

Farmers markets, summer movies and city-wide festivities
West Dearborn's downtown comes to life with summer movies, live music and year-round events. Holiday celebrations include trick-or-treating at the local businesses and the Jingle Bell Bash, with live ice carving and pictures with Santa. The always popular Dearborn Farmers and Artisan Market happens monthly in the summer. Many of downtown's events have started to utilize Peace Park West, an urban green space that opened in 2024. The park has an outdoor stage, vendor pavilions and three "work pods" with Wi-Fi.
Ford Field Park hosts the annual Dearborn Homecoming Festival each August. The three-day festival includes carnival rides, a fireworks show and live music from nationally touring acts. One of the city's biggest events, the Ramadan Suhoor Festival, is held in the parking lot of the Fairlane Mall, just over a mile away. In the past, an estimated 100,000 people attended the multi-day festivities.

Outdoor fun at Ford Field Park and riverside flooding risks
A branch of the Rouge River borders Morley on the north. The riverside Ford Field Park is walkable from most homes and offers ball fields, tennis courts and a red bridge that crosses the river. The park is one of the most popular outdoor spots in the city year-round, but it gets especially crowded during the Dearborn Homecoming Festival, where it's the prime spot to watch the fireworks show. It is also popular during Michigan's cold winters for its sledding hills. Trails from the park run along the Rogue River, connecting all across Dearborn.
However, the river brings some flooding risks to the area. The Ford Field playground and trails regularly get flooded when the river overflows its banks. A few of the buildings on the neighborhood's north side are in the floodplain, but most residential structures are not.

Houses of worship engage the community
The neighborhood has a high concentration of houses of worship, including a Romanian-speaking Catholic Church, a Presbyterian Church and a Lutheran Church. Dearborn First United Methodist Church organizes a regular food pantry, a free lunch service for local students and a Pride celebration in June. The local nonprofit Imam Mahdi Association of Marjaeya offers a quiet library and prayer hall, with daily prayer services and educational courses. The nearby Christ Episcopal Church offers services in English and Arabic, with a community center used for fitness classes and club meetings. The neighborhood is also 3 miles from the Islamic Center of America, the largest mosque in North America.
Buses and high-speed trains in Detroit
All the streets in Morley have sidewalks, and Monroe Street has a designated bike lane connecting downtown and Ford Field Park. Michigan Avenue is lined with bus stops, with a Fast Michigan Express bus that heads out to the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport in about 30 minutes. The bus also connects to the 12 miles to downtown Detroit in 30 minutes. Less than a mile away, the Dearborn Amtrak station offers direct high-speed transit to Detroit, Ann Arbor and Chicago. Beaumont Hospital – Dearborn is the closest medical center and is about 2 miles away.

Public schools and nearby private options
Students can attend Howard Elementary, which gets an A-minus rating from Niche and is ranked as the top elementary school in the Dearborn City School District. Bryant Middle School, which gets a B grade, and Dearborn High School, which is rated B-plus. Dearborn High is known for its music program and a student video club that has won several Michigan Emmy Awards. The high school is about a mile away from most Morley homes. The neighborhood is also home to two faith-based private schools. Emmanuel Lutheran School and Sacred Heart Catholic School both serve pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students.
