Historic and close to downtown Decatur
Clairemont-Great Lakes exemplifies many traits people love about Decatur – historic, community-orientated and close to work and downtown. “Everyone who lives in this area really likes living in Decatur,” says 40-year area resident Frank Golley, Realtor and owner of Golley Realty Group. “There’s a lot of community joy and enthusiasm. People tend to come and stick around.” The Clairemont Historic District is the longest-standing portion of the area. Developed between 1913 and the 1940s, the district is known for its distinctive early 20th-century homes. The rest of the neighborhood blends its past with modern touches and perks, including top-rated schools, acclaimed downtown Decatur restaurants, and short commutes to Emory University and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), both major local employers.
