Cylon is a quiet community in the farms and forests of St. Croix County
Deep in the western Wisconsin farmlands, Cylon is a rural community in St. Croix County. Sparsely populated, the township offers the privacy and low crime rates often associated with small-town living. Cylon’s CAP Index Crime Score is 1 out of 10, compared to the national average of 4. However, proximity to larger areas like New Richmond and Minneapolis ensures that locals can access more than just farms and trees. “It has a lot of rural character, but it’s close to enrichment,” says Jason Kjeseth, director of community development for St. Croix County. “So, you’re not far from lots of shopping and entertainment.” Lower-than-average real estate prices and opportunities for acreage also attract homebuyers looking for a piece of the country.
