Red Rocks offers concerts with a view of Denver’s city lights

Alkire Acres is within a 15-minute drive of Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, a mountain park with trails that doubles as an outdoor concert venue. “If you're about halfway up or beyond, you're still close enough, you can see the stage — and, of course, they've got great big screens on either side of it now — but you can see over Denver and all the lights of Denver,” Cabalka says. “If it's a typical summer evening in Denver, we get afternoon thunderstorms that tend to roll across the foothills, roll across Denver in the early evening/late afternoon, and so while you're watching the concert and whatever lighting and special effects the performers are using, you get this natural light show in the thunderheads that sometimes get pretty darn big.”

Major roads make travel to the Rockies and Denver employers easy

Employment centers, including Denver and the Denver Tech Center, are both about a 35-minute drive without traffic. Colorado Highway 470, locally known as C-470, is a major thoroughfare that travels north and south through Alkire Acres. “There are two primary routes into the mountains west of Denver; one of them is [U.S.] Highway 285. That's the lesser of the two, but that's a four-lane divided highway for quite some distance up into the foothills, and then if you go just a little bit farther north, you see [Interstate] 70 headed up into the mountains, which is the bigger thoroughfare. It's also a traffic nightmare on weekends heading up during ski season or summer camping because of the recreational opportunities that exist,” Cabalka says. “These are the two primary routes, if you live in metro Denver and you want to go up to the mountains.”
