Off West Payne Avenue south of the neighborhood, there’s an unnamed and unpaved walking trail that winds through an open field looking directly at the mountainscape. If you continue on this path for just a mile, you’ll walk under the bridge of Highway 470 before arriving at Chatfield Reservoir and State Park. “The Reservoir is a popular place for visitors and locals to boat, water ski, kayak and swim,” says Landreth. The park also attracts campers, fishers, hikers and even hot air balloon riders.
