Up-and-coming with a lot of potential
Craftsman, split-level and two-story ranch-style houses range from $300,000 to $850,000. A four-bedroom craftsman home can be listed for $650,000 to $750,000, while a two-story, ranch-style home can sell for $700,000 to $800,000. Townhouses typically begin in the $400,000s. Plateau Park is a community of craftsman-style townhouses built around 2005, off the Pierce Street and Coal Mine Avenue intersection. Pedestrians walk along Weaver Avenue to see two-story homes incorporating brick and faux cobblestone exteriors on well-manicured lots with paved driveways and two-car garages. Many of the homes in Dutch Creek Village have three dormer windows that peek through a tiled roof, giving a stylistic semblance of Spanish architecture. "I would say it's up and coming," says Mindi Sanders, who has lived in the south Denver area for three decades and works as a Realtor at eXp Realty in Englewood. "Some of the homes probably need updating, but as things turn over and new owners start coming in to fix up properties, it has a lot of potential."
