The area is also home to Pinehurst Park, which features a playground, basketball court and multiuse fields.
Award-winning Drill Team at Kennedy High
The Denver Public School District serves the students of Fort Logan, scoring average ratings on Niche. Kids in the neighborhood may find themselves attending Kaiser Elementary School and Rocky Mountain Prep Federal for middle school, both scoring C ratings on Niche. Students then attend C-rated John F. Kennedy High School, whose Drill Team was recently named the best in Colorado State history. Private alternatives, such as Havern School and the A-rated Mullen High School, are also available. Every year on Memorial Day, veterans and families from across the region can head to Fort Logan National Cemetery. Bus stops are available along West Kenyon Avenue, neighboring Fort Logan and Bear Creek Park. Commuters also have access to the green line at Oxford-City of Sheridan Station, about a 2 mile drive away, while those who often travel for work have a 30 mile drive to Denver International Airport. Monaghan’s Bar and Grill has made its mark on the community for many years, but residents typically drive for their dining and shopping needs. “It’s only a 10 minute drive to great restaurants in downtown Littleton, like Steakhouse 10. There are also a bunch of options along Wadsworth and popular chains like the Cheesecake Factory in Southwest Plaza,” Kelly says. Mike’s Cafe is the place to go for classic American fare, while Doghouse Tavern serves tasty burgers and dogs. Locals can head less than 2 miles to King Soopers and The Home Depot for everyday household needs in the Bear Valley Shopping Center or buy in bulk at the nearby Costco Wholesale. For a more extensive range of retailers, River Point at Sheridan features stores like Target and PetSmart and popular chains like Dutch Bros Coffee and Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse.Low crime scores in the community
