Once known as a place where wealthy New Yorkers spent their summers, Denville is an inviting Northern New Jersey neighborhood with lakeside living. “You’ve got the lake communities, if you want to be near water, and parks and preserves, so you can go hike or be in nature,” says Jill Lattmann, a Real Estate Sales Associate with Kienlen Lattmann Sotheby's International Realty who has been selling in the area for three years. The lake communities, including Rock Ridge, Arrowhead, Cedar and Indian Lake, offer waterfront views and outdoor recreation. “Denville also has a very vibrant downtown,” Lattmann says, “And you have bus access, train access, you’ve got highway access. It’s just a combination of a lot of really nice features.”

Locally owned shops, plus Trader Joe’s

Denville takes pride in its charming downtown, a walkable area with locally owned restaurants and shops. Along Broadway, Denville Dairy scoops homemade ice cream and residents rely on Sergio and Co Italian Specialties for cold cuts, gourmet sandwiches and classic Italian foods. Denville Seafood offers freshly caught fish to take home or enjoy in their Codmother’s Café. Hunan Taste serves authentic Chinese cuisine and locals gather for pints and trivia nights at Thatcher McGhee’s, an Irish pub. Up a block on 1st Avenue Carver’s offers freshly baked breads and pies. In the southern part of the neighborhood, off Route 10, the Shoppes at Union Hill offer retail clothing stores and grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s.
