Located just a few miles from downtown Detroit, Fox Creek offers a unique blend of industrial aesthetics and modern amenities.“This is a neighborhood that many Detroiters didn’t even know existed, or didn’t know the proper name,” says Maya Rushing, an agent with Keller Williams Paint Creek. “Slowly, people are beginning to see it and take stock in its potential.”

Warren, Mack and 94
This neighborhood’s location is a main draw. Just blocks from Interstate 94, commuting is made simple. Downtown Detroit is just 9 miles west and can be reached in about 15 minutes. FCA Mack and Jefferson North Assembly Plant are 2 miles west of this neighborhood’s center, putting well-paying plant careers within reach. While drivers won’t have an issue getting around, Fox Creek is a highly walkable and bikeable community. And with the Warren bus running along its northern border and the Mack bus running along its south, public transit options are plentiful. Accessibly priced homes
One of the most striking features of Fox Creek is its architecture. In the early 20th century, Fox Creek transformed into a residential community as many of the factories and warehouses were converted into homes and apartments. Today, there’s a variety of housing styles, including Colonial Revivals, bungalows and two-family flats. Investors and first-time homebuyers are especially fond of this community because of home prices. Homes range from $10,000 for a 2-bed bungalow that needs a full flip, to $270,000 for a remodeled two-family flat.

Universal Coney, Krazy Pizza and more
Fox Creek is home to an emerging business community that includes small businesses, startups and established companies. “There’s a lot of interest in Fox Creek,” says Rushing. “It will be great to see plans come to fruition in a few years.”A Detroit neighborhood isn’t complete without a coney, so it should come as no surprise that Universal Coney Island satiates diners' cravings from early mornings to late nights. Warren Fish & Seafood is down the road and is a hot spot for fresh, fried-to-order wings and fish. And Krazy Pizza is always on point, serving up tasty calzones and lemon pepper tossed wings to hungry visitors. The Aldi on Mack provides a convenient space to grab fresh food, but residents have to commute at least 15 minutes to shop at box stores like Walmart and Target.
