At Buford Highway Farmers Market, the aisles are labeled by country — and the whole world is covered. When asked about the retail in Doraville, There are many dining establishments, either name-brand or locally owned. Residents can head to Waffle House, Bojangles or Checker's just off of Buford Highway. Green spaces decorate Doraville on all sides
Doraville is surrounded by neighborhood green spaces. Residents can play and unwind at Honeysuckle Park, the 20-acre site has five well-lit athletic fields: three for baseball and two for football and soccer. There’s also a half-mile walking trail and a little free library stand. Bernard Halpern Park is a smaller neighborhood strip with soccer fields, a basketball hoop and children's playground. For rainy days, residents can drive 4 miles south to Regal Hollywood @ North I-85 and watch a movie.

Moore says, “Home sizes are larger in Doraville as opposed to Atlanta, but you’re seeing more townhouse developments there now.” Most homes in Doraville were built after World War II, during a construction boom spurred by the development of a General Motors assembly plant. One of the oldest DeKalb schools is nearby
Doraville students are served by DeKalb County Schools, which is graded an A-minus for diversity on Niche. Nearby schools close to Doraville include Oakcliff Elementary, rated a C on Niche, Chamblee Middle, rated a B-plus, and Chamblee Charter High School, boasting an A-rating on Niche. Chamblee High is one of DeKalb's oldest schools, serving students since 1917, they also moved into a new building back in 2014.
