Duvall's homesteader history and community events
Duvall’s history is connected to pioneers, logging and agriculture. It was named for an 1870s homesteader, James Duvall. Open to the public seasonally, the Dougherty House farmstead has the oldest preserved structures in the Snoqualmie River Valley. Events here include the Duvall Civic Club Plant Sale and Craft Fair in May and Uncle Lumpy's Jug Band Fest in July. The Duvall Food Forest, a dog park and the Cherry Valley Pioneer Cemetery are close to the Dougherty House.
A big annual event, Duvall Days Festival, is held in early June. Main Street is transformed into a pedestrian mall, and there’s the Grand Parade, fireworks and a 5K. Also in June, Art in Bloom, Duvall's premiere garden art show, is held at Kokopelli Gardens. The Duvall Farmers Market goes on at Taylor Landing on Thursdays from May to October.
