Eagle's small-town vibe, easy access to outdoor recreation, and proximity to downtown Boise make it a draw for people moving to the Treasure Valley. "People looking for a more custom and luxury area, or just want land, look to Eagle," says Bridget Crawford, a real estate professional with Keller Williams Boise Realty. Locals will find a flatter landscape closer to the Boise River and more rolling hills and terrain closer to the foothills. Downtown Eagle is about two miles long and features several restaurants, shops, and classic architectural buildings that offer a peek into the past of what Old Town Eagle used to look like. Eagle is around 10 miles from downtown Boise and roughly 17 miles from the Boise Airport.

Plenty of activities at Eagle Island State Park
The Treasure Valley is an oasis for hobbyists and outdoor enthusiasts, with Eagle Island State Park being one of the more popular places for outdoor activities. The park is around 550 acres and has hiking and equestrian trails, a water slide, a swimming beach, and a picnic area. People can go paddleboarding on the river or ziplining. Action sports fans go to Eagle Bike Park, which includes several bike jumps and trails for people to walk or take their bikes. Like many Treasure Valley locals, Eagle residents spend leisure time on the Boise River Greenbelt, a locally beloved pathway lined with trees along the Boise River. The 25-mile, tree-lined path is a popular place to hang out and enjoy the natural surroundings. The Banbury Golf Course is near the Boise River and is a local favorite for golfers. In fact, it is a regular on Golf Digest's rankings for best golf courses in Idaho.

Custom luxury homes along the waterfront
People can find homes and property in Eagle on both ends of the spectrum. Single-family homes range from around $450,000 for a new construction craftsman-style home to more than seven million for a resort-style estate in a gated community by the water with land. "There is such a variety of architecture in Eagle," Crawford says. "The two stand-out types of property are wide acreage areas for horses and waterfront planned communities with custom homes and ponds." The area also has smaller subdivisions and several custom properties. Depending on location, townhomes and condos range from $300,000 to around $500,000.

Everyone shows up for Eagle Fun Days
Eagle's small-town community vibe is on display during their local community events. Eagle Fun Days is a staple event hosted by the Eagle Volunteer Fire Department, where people get together for food, fun, and the "World's Largest Rocky Mountain Oyster Feed". Other local events include the Eagle Concert Series, Harvest Fest and the Night of 1,000 Pumpkins.
Kids of all ages will enjoy Wahooz family fun center in nearby Meridian.

Join coding club at Eagle Middle School
Young students will begin their educational journeys at Eagle Hills Elementary, an A-minus school according to Niche, for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Their next stop will be Eagle Middle School, which receives an A-minus, for sixth through eighth grades. Eagle is ranked the 14th best public middle school in the state by Niche and offers clubs and activities for students, including coding, chess, ski and snowboarding clubs. Teenage students will attend Eagle High School, a B-plus institution that receives high marks for academics, teachers and sports.

Grab dinner and drinks at Coyne's Restaurant
Downtown Eagle is quickly becoming a popular place for people to work and live. "The downtown is really nice; people love to go there for coffee shops, restaurants and shops near Downtown Eagle Road and Old State Street," Crawford says. Swing by Rembrandts, located in the iconic church building downtown, is known for having a variety of menu items, a bar with a happy hour and hosting private events or gatherings. Coyne's Restaurant and Bar is a go-to for premium steaks, gourmet dishes and wine or cocktails. Locals pick up their produce and meats from the nearby WinCo Foods or Albertsons. A few minutes down West State Street is where locals find Walmart and other big-name retail stores.
