Lakeside living in East Hampton
The small town of East Hampton is located 22 miles south of Hartford and just a stone's throw from Boston and New York City. The town is known for its rich history, surrounding natural beauty and close-knit community. Lake life is on offer in East Hampton, with Lake Pocotopaug sitting at the town's center. The lake is one of Connecticut's largest inland bodies of water and a significant draw for boaters and anglers. "The lake is a big part of town," says Linda Bitondo, a realtor with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services. "People love to head out onto the water on their boats." In many ways, the lake is at the center of the town's recreational activities year-round. In the winter months, ice skating is popular. Once the ice thaws, locals return to catching fish and practicing their backstroke.
Life along the water

Lakefront colonial cottages, newly constructed Craftsman-style estates, Cape Cod and ranch-style homes comprise the area, with prices ranging from $100,000 to $1.24 million.
