Westridge continues the westside Eau Claire vibe with trendy ranch-style homes
As the smallest of Eau Claire's western communities, Westridge's mid-century vibe is on display through its collection of ranch-style homes from as far back as the 1950s and ‘60s. Arne Kleven, the owner of Kleven Real Estate, Inc. and an Eau Claire Realtor for more than 40 years, says the neighborhoods west of the Chippewa River -- Westridge, West Riverside and Upper Westside -- these days satisfy a connection with a time decades ago.
“Everything comes full circle in real estate, and the resurging popularity of mid-century ranch-style homes is a perfect example,'' he says. "Today’s buyers are so interested in these 60- or 70-year-old homes. They really love the classic modern architecture and one-story living. They don’t want to do major remodels, nor will they tear them down to build something else. Buyers will fix what needs fixing, but they also want to preserve original details.”
Ranch homes are a popular homestyle throughout Westridge.
