Just 2.5 miles north of downtown Edmond and 3 miles west of Interstate 35, Brookhaven North offers both peaceful suburban living with urban convenience. Realtor Rob Scholl, with eXp Realty, notes that it’s exactly this unique combination that makes the community so highly sought-after. “Brookhaven North is on the outskirts of Edmond, but it doesn’t quite have a country feel,” he says, explaining: “It’s not quite as congested as being in town, so it’s nice, quiet and peaceful.”

In keeping with its classic suburban atmosphere, you’ll find even rows of well-maintained homes lining these shade-dappled sidewalks and wide, winding residential streets. Most of the brick ranch-style homes feature attached two-car garages and spacious backyards enclosed by wooden privacy fences. Scholl notes that Brookhaven North homes, like many Oklahoman suburbs, were built in phases: “There were three phases in this neighborhood. The first began in the late ‘70s and the last began in the late ‘80s, so all the homes here were built in a tight decade between about 1978 and 1989.” He observes that “home prices here are decent, sitting in the low-to-upper $200,000 range, depending on the size of the house.” For a typical four-bedroom, two-bathroom home built in the late ‘70s, featuring original hardwood flooring and the usual attached two-car garage, you can expect to pay around $225,000. “Most homes receive offers quickly,” says Scholl, explaining that one of his recent Brookhaven North listings was on the market for just one day before going under contract. Scholl: “It’s a nice area, in a good location, where people have taken good care of their homes. What’s not to love about that?”

There is certainly a lot to love about Brookhaven North’s location. “You’re literally minutes from downtown Edmond and minutes from I-35, so you can get anywhere in the city very quickly,” says Scholl, adding: “It’s just very convenient.” For your everyday groceries, your local Uptown Grocery and Walmart Neighborhood Market are both within 2.5 miles of most homes. You won’t need to go far for fun or good food, either. With the Kickingbird Golf Club and downtown Edmond also within 2.5 miles of Brookhaven North, there’s plenty of opportunity for recreation and dining nearby. Opened in 1971, the 18-hole championship course at the golf club is Edmond’s oldest. It’s also the city’s only municipal course and off Danforth Road just over a mile southeast, Brookhaven North residents are within easy reach.

For more fun and food, many residents also take advantage of their close proximity to downtown. The Icehouse Project is a popular food court-style dining destination, offering fare from tacos and beer to pizza and ice cream. But the eatery, on 2nd Street just over 2 miles south, is as frequented for its live music and trivia and game nights as it is for its cuisine. “It’s a neat spot,” says Scholl, noting that it’s just one of several hip new developments in the downtown area. “There’s a lot going on there at the moment, it seems like there’s a new place to eat or shop every time I visit,” he laughs.

Brookhaven North students attend schools in the highly rated Edmond Public Schools system. Many go to Northern Hills Elementary, Sequoyah Middle and Edmond North High, all of which boast A grades from Niche. Edmond North also boasts a 9/10 GreatSchools Summary Rating for its students’ stellar test scores and college readiness. Scholl observes that many of the clients he works with in Edmond are “looking to move here because of the schools,” adding: “They’re well-known as some of the best in the area.”
