A convenient suburb in north Edmond
Pebble Creek is more than a few stones short of a beach in landlocked Oklahoma. But as Realtor Judy Rutledge says: “Pebble Creek is a lovely neighborhood that’s maintained its value because it has well-kept homes in a great, central location.” As a bedroom community for OKC, 15 miles away, the neighborhood is also roughly 3 miles from downtown Edmond and a few blocks from shopping and dining on Danforth Road and Santa Fe Avenue. Its convenient location in north Edmond and its comfortable, relatively affordable homes have made it a popular starter home community for first-time buyers and young families.
Shops and restaurants on Santa Fe and Danforth
Shops and restaurants are just outside the neighborhood at the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue and Danforth Road, and Walmart and Kohls are half a mile south. “What I’d call our biggest shopping center is very close, right down Second Street maybe a half a mile past the center of downtown, and that’s where you’ll find Lowe’s and Target and tons of restaurants like Fuzzy’s Tacos and Cici’s Pizza,” says Rutledge, who works with Keller Williams Central Oklahoma. Closer to home, the Homestead shopping plaza features down-home restaurants like The Big Biscuit, which serves its namesake dish and other hot-from-the-griddle breakfast fare. The chain excels at fluffy biscuits and savory sausage gravy, plus a craveable concoction called the “bonut” — buttermilk biscuits dipped in French toast batter, fried, then tossed in powdered sugar. The plaza is also home to Mio Italian Kitchen, a family-owned restaurant with authentic Italian flavors, and The Frosted Mug, another locally owned business with wings, burgers and, of course, ice-cold beer. Residents are 3 miles from downtown Edmond eateries like Edmond Railyard and the Icehouse Project, two food halls housing multiple restaurants.

Single-story traditional and ranch-style homes
The 1990s-era neighborhood is lined with sidewalks, trimmed lawns and brick mailboxes. Traditional and ranch-style homes feature classic suburban elements like front-facing attached garages and fenced-in backyards. Prices range from $220,000 to $300,000, increasing in price with renovations. Like many north Edmond suburbs, Pebble Creek has an optional homeowners association, with monthly dues of $15. “The nice thing about this neighborhood is that the HOA is optional,” Rutledge says. “Members can use the pool and clubhouse, which are nice incentives, but you have the freedom not to be a member if you’d prefer that.”
Cozy and well-maintained lots are typical for homes in Pebble Creek.
