This neighborhood on the southwest end of Edmond blooms from South Broadway, one of the area’s key thoroughfares, making retail selections and dining options plentiful. “It’s a very laid-back community with very warm, welcoming people. Edmond’s a great place to be,” says Scott Starns, who co-owns Edmond Music, a store in the area on South Broadway. Starns is also the store’s general manager and has played an instrumental role in its operations for more than 20 years.

Stonebridge residents have a wide range of Edmond’s retail and dining options at their doorstep. The neighborhood’s Edmond Crossing shopping center offers national stores such as TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Dollar Tree and Rack Room Shoes, alongside Chick-fil-A and other familiar food favorites. To the east of the neighborhood on 33rd Street, Bickham-Rudkin Park combines multiple park areas into one large retreat for denizens and families that need more than a small backyard to enjoy the great outdoors. Residents can find a fishing pond, 1.2 miles of mixed-use trails, an arboretum, and a dog park across the space.
The gateway from Edmond to the Big Friendly
Residents can travel from Stonebridge into the downtown area of Oklahoma City with a 12-mile drive. The city is accessible from the neighborhood via Interstate 235 or Eastern Avenue. The nearest hospital is Summit Medical Center, about 3 miles northwest of the area. For flights across the state, country or world, Will Rogers World Airport is 8 miles away using US-90. Citylink stops for the area are available along South Boulevard on the Route 100 Expresslink line. Oklahoma City University stands immediately to the east of the neighborhood, 1 mile away on Memorial Road.
Never a boar-ing moment at Edmond schools
The Stonebridge area’s youngest students attend Orvis Risner Elementary School, which holds an A-minus grade on Niche. Cimarron Middle School offers co-ed athletic programs for basketball, wrestling, swimming, golf, track and tennis. Students can join the school’s teams at the junior varsity or varsity levels. The school holds an A rating with Niche users. Memorial High School raises funds for local charities each November with its Swine Week event, culminating in an assembly where the school’s principal kisses a pig. The school holds an A-plus rating on Niche.
