Captivating views on Scenic Drive
Set 5 miles southwest of the Fort Bliss U.S. Army base, Highland Park is a neighborhood characterized by historic homes, views of the city and convenient access to downtown El Paso. While many residents here are military personnel who chose the neighborhood for its relative affordability and proximity to the Army base, some are long-standing El Paso residents who enjoy the quieter, hillside atmosphere. “You can see the entire city from Scenic Drive,” says Brenda Chavez, El Paso Realtor with Home Pros Real Estate Group. “Residents are right in the mix. The zoo is about 10 minutes away, there’s great food on North Piedras Street, and downtown is less than 3 miles away.” In addition to being close to commercial amenities, the neighborhood is set against El Paso's towering Franklin Mountains, giving Highland Park residents easy access to scenic hiking trails.

Homes from 1910 to 2010
The residential streets here are laid out in neat grids that slope gently uphill toward the Franklin Mountains. There are hardly any sidewalks or greenery here; lots are compact and generally bordered by low stone walls and wrought-iron fences. Many homes date to the early 20th century, have two or three bedrooms, and are either ranch-style, Craftsman bungalows with brick exteriors, or Pueblo Revivals with stucco and adobe facades. There are also some newer versions of these styles that were built between the 1990s and 2010. Single-family homes generally sell from $100,000 to $300,000. Condo and townhouse units may range from $100,000 to $525,000.
