A convenient and family friendly draw homebuyers to Stanton Heights

Stanton Heights offers a convenient location within the bustling east El Paso area. “This is the most recently developed part of the city, and it’s where everything new is going,” says Allison Dillard, a Realtor with Keller Williams and a lifelong El Paso resident. Locals can easily get to Eastside Regional Park, which opened in 2021 and is El Paso’s largest city-maintained green space. Stanton Heights also has a family friendly atmosphere, with several small parks and a local public school. Plus, when it’s time for parents to head to work, major employers, like Fort Bliss and Hospitals of Providence East Campus, are just a short drive away.

Bill Sybert School is in Stanton Heights

Socorro Independent School District serves the community. Kids can attend prekindergarten through eighth grade at Bill Sybert School, which Niche grades a B-plus. A football field, baseball diamonds and a playground make up the school’s campus at the neighborhood’s core. Despite this location, kids rarely walk to school. “Between the extreme heat and the traffic, parents typically just drive their kids or make them take the bus,” Dillard says. Students may continue to B-minus-rated Montwood High, where the STEM Magnet Program has classes focused on biomedicine and engineering.

There’s a recreation center with a running track, basketball courts and a natatorium that regularly hosts swim competitions. Baseball diamonds, pickleball courts and picnic pavilions are being added to the green space, with an expected completion date by the summer of 2026. Buying groceries and getting Mexican food is easy

A Walmart Neighborhood Market is near Stanton Heights’ southeastern corner. A few locally owned restaurants are also around the neighborhood, including Tacos Chinampa, where mariachi bands perform every Friday night. Las Lunas Bakery serves pan dulce, breakfast burritos and empanadas. An industrial park with construction warehouses and a recycling center is to the north. Major shopping centers, like the Fountains at Farah and Cielo Vista Mall, line the Interstate 10 commercial corridor, about 5 miles south. The highway may experience heavy traffic, especially on the weekends. “That’s when I avoid going anywhere near it because everybody is driving to all the shopping centers and it’s way too crazy,” Dillard says.

Highways and El Paso’s largest employer are nearby

Stanton Heights is a car-dependent community with easy access to highways and major employers. Loop 375, which encircles most of the city, and the Hospitals of Providence East Campus are about 2 miles east. El Paso International Airport and the Fort Bliss Army, the city’s biggest employer, sit less than 11 miles north. “Every neighborhood within 15 miles of the fort typically has quite a few military families, and that’s true for Stanton Heights,” Dillard says. I-10 reaches downtown El Paso with a 15-mile drive west. Sun Metro provides bus service throughout the area.
