Calm, convenient living in northeast El Paso
Veteran’s Park is a little neighborhood in northeast El Paso that draws homebuyers for its convenient yet quiet location. “I was born and raised around here, and it’s always been kind of a peaceful little retreat,” says Jennifer Ceniceros, a Home Pros Real Estate Realtor with more than five years of experience working with clients in the area. “It’s true what they say – that everything’s bigger in Texas. We have more room, more space around us, and you can see that here. But there’s also plenty of shopping, restaurants and parks around,” she says.
Veterans Park is filled with brick ranch-style homes.

Competitively priced ranch-style homes
The Franklin Mountains are visible to the west, unobstructed by the neighborhood’s low ranch-style homes or short desert willows and mesquite trees. Prices start at close to $125,000 and climb to just over $350,000, a range typical for northeast El Paso, but well below the national median. “It’s very affordable compared to the rest of the country, even the rest of the city,” Ceniceros says. Homes usually go under contract in under a month, several weeks faster than the national average.
The ranch-style homes in Veterans Park come in a variety of styles.

Andress High has International Baccalaureate, dual enrollment programs
El Paso Independent School District allows open enrollment, but the neighborhood is zoned for Torres Elementary, Charles Middle and Andress High. All three are within a mile of most homes. Torres receives a B-minus from Niche, while Charles gets a B. Andress, which gets a C-plus, has an International Baccalaureate program. It’s also a Pathways in Technology Early College High School, in which students can earn industry certification and/or an associate degree while they work on their high school diploma. Bobby Joe Hill PK-8 School is also nearby. Just opened in 2023, the public elementary/middle school doesn’t yet have a Niche grade.

Indoor and outdoor recreation at Veterans Park
The neighborhood’s namesake park has a covered playground, baseball diamonds and a skatepark. Veterans Recreation Center has indoor facilities, from a computer room to a gymnasium. The rec center reopened in January 2025 after a $1.5 million renovation, which included new restrooms, an expansion for the game room and cosmetic improvements to the interior and exterior. Hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing are available about 10 miles away, in Franklin Mountains State Park.

Big box retailers and grocery stores, like Lowe’s and Albertsons line the U.S. Route 54 corridor minutes away. Two Walmarts, a Supercenter and a Neighborhood Market, are within 3 miles of the neighborhood, within a 10-minute drive. Mom-and-pop Mexican restaurants and fast-food chains are scattered along the commercial corridor, too. “As for entertainment, we don’t have a whole lot as far as big attractions, but we’re excited for the Sunset Amphitheater,” Ceniceros says. El Paso City Council approved the development of the 12,500-seat outdoor venue in 2024. It's set to open at the corner of Gateway North Boulevard and Cohen Avenue in early 2027.
